What to do in Oirschot: our favorite outings in autumn
There is something about Oirschot in the autumn. The summer crowds are gone, the terraces on the Market Square are just as inviting but a lot quieter, and the woods surrounding the village are slowly turning golden. Strolling through the most beautiful village in Brabant
Oirschot has one of the most pristine village centers in North Brabant: a wide Market Square with lime trees, monumental buildings, and the imposing St. Peter's Basilica. On Saturday mornings, it is wonderfully lively. Take the time for a coffee on a terrace, pop into an antique shop, and then take a stroll past the old farmhouses on the edge of the village.
From our country estate at De Bollen 10, you can cycle there in fifteen minutes. Don't have a bike with you? You can rent a city bike from us for €15 per day – see our bike rental. Those who prefer to go a bit further can take the Scott e-gravel bike (€60 per day) and ride straight on to the gravel and MTB routes in the surrounding area.
Into nature: heath, fen and forest
Surrounding Oirschot lies nature you wouldn't expect so close to the city. The Oirschotse Heide starts almost around the corner, the Kampina is a classic with its fens and rambling trails, and a little further south you'll find the vast Gorp en Roovert. In autumn, that means: mushrooms along the path, morning mist over the fen, and that typical scent of wet leaves.

Taste and experience in the neighborhood
Rainy afternoon? Even then, there is plenty to do. Beer lovers head to the Vandeoirsprong brewery, where you can sample what is brewed in Oirschot. If you want to make it a special day, rent a classic car via klassiekeshuren.nl and take a tour through the Brabant villages – surprisingly fun to do as a couple.
And because we are centrally located between Eindhoven, Tilburg, and Den Bosch, you can be in the city in no time for a museum, dinner, or an afternoon of shopping. You'll be there within half an hour.
Coming home to your tiny house
The best part of a day outdoors is the moment you return. We have five tiny houses – De Rooij Ackers, De Groene Ackers, De Stille Ackers, De Bolle Ackers, and De Weide Ackers – plus guest room 't Bakhuisje. Small, warm, and with the door open to the field.
For a true autumn atmosphere, rent the hot tub: sitting outside in the warm water as it slowly gets dark is an experience you won't soon forget. Or reserve the outdoor oven and bake your own pizzas or bread. The heated swimming pool (around 28°C) and the playground are available from May through September – if you visit in the summer with children, that is perfect.
